Engineer - Aircraft Component Repair

The ideal candidate has a strong comprehension of engineering fundamentals and is able to apply them to solve real-world problems.

Your key responsibilities

You are highly motivated, competitive, and comfortable working both independently and on a team. Engineering fundamentals and problem solving skills will be used to troubleshoot, design, analyze, and repair aircraft components, tooling, and test systems.

In this position, your main responsibilities and duties are:

  • Design repairs and modifications to aircraft components
  • Produce 3D CAD models, 2D manufacturing drawings, and repair/modification work instructions
  • Perform stress analyses to ensure structural integrity of repaired components
  • Write engineering reports to substantiation the design complies with applicable FAA regulations
  • Assist in aircraft component failure investigations and warranty determinations
  • Provide liaison technical support to other departments
  • Other duties as assigned

What do we ask from you?

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (mechanical, aerospace or industrial preferred)
  • Strong understanding of engineering mechanics (metallic material properties, free body diagrams, stress analysis methods, fluid flow, etc)
  • Excellent verbal and technical writing skills
  • Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook proficiency
  • Min. 5 yrs. work experience in a related field - Aviation experience is a plus
  • Thermal spray and electroplating experience is a plus
  • Process specification development is a plus
