Production & Obsolescence Engineer

How you keep the engine running with us

  • Register & Manage obsolescence cases, determine priority, risk, strategy, solution and mitigation
  • Communicate and maintain contact with required/selected manufacturers and where required customers for technical support on production
  • Determine required documentation, tooling, drawings and processes and ensure availability for timely execution of production
  • Solve non-conformities in the supply chain in consult with manufacturer, quality, engineering and technical inspectors
  • Responsible for adding and maintaining correct (Part)Master Data in the ERP system for all Proprietary and Manufacturing License Parts, including Hazardous Material, REACH, Export Classifications and Harmonized Tariff Schedule Codes
  • Propose alternative materials, production methods or other means, including certification and production trajectory
  • Investigate feasibility for alternative production methods or reverse engineering
  • In concert with logistics manage the condition of production tooling and molds. Monitor the whereabouts and return after lending out tooling to production facilities. Maintain an administration in the ERP system for tooling that is in consignment with production facilities
  • Obtain offers from suppliers or markets to fulfil requirements by means of producing new parts or sourcing surplus stocks. Distribute approved data where required within the secured distribution portals
  • Participate in Operational Meetings to prioritize workload, advise organization/teams and create solutions in multidisciplinary teams
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement Projects
  • Perform all activities within the compliance, procurement and quality regulations.

How you are valuable to us

  • MBO4 /HBO -or- equivalent experience
  • Experience working with ERP & Quality Systems, preferably within the aviation industry
  • Experience with obsolescence processes and trajectories
  • Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English, both verbally and in writing
  • Advanced commercial and technical insight
  • Knowledge of production techniques e.g. as machining, (spray)casting, extrusion, thermoforming, forging, 3D printing, etc
  • Knowledge of procurement and purchasing processes
  • Knowledge of aircraft, systems and components
  • Knowledge of aircraft maintenance programs
  • Knowledge of repair procedures and related costs
  • Knowledge of Aviation Regulations e.g EASA Part.21G and AS9100
  • Able to set the right priorities and work according to a predefined plan
  • Able to improvise on AOG requests
  • Customer focused and convincing attitude
  • Flexible and open minded, able to work together with a wide range of people
  • Immune to stress, be able to perform under pressure
